Our Story

Named one of the top “100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010” by Entrepreneur Magazine and New York Magazine’s Boom Brands of 2013, Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on one thing and being the best at it: Blowouts. The idea was a natural one for curly haired founder Alli Webb, a longtime professional stylist, who constantly found herself overpaying for blowouts at traditional salons.

In addition to 65+ locations throughout the US and Canada, our growing product line (created specifically for the perfect blowout), is sold through our own shops, as well as Sephora, Nordstrom, Ulta and Bloomingdale's.

Meet The Team

Alli Webb

Alli is our founder and a lifelong blowdry maven. Before becoming a full-time mom to Grant and Kit, Alli had a career in public relations, working with clients such as Faith Hill, Paul McCartney and Keith Urban. She’s a professional hairstylist, trained by Toni & Guy, and spent several years working under the late, great John Sahag in NYC. In 2008, she began a side business called Straight-at-Home, which provided in-home blowouts on a referral basis in LA. When her business and popularity quickly outgrew her one-woman show, she decided to expand and start Drybar. We couldn’t be more proud of Alli’s achievements, which include a 2014 CEW Achiever Award, Fortune’s “40 under 40,” Marie Claire’s “16 Most Fascinating Women,” Cosmopolitan’s “2013 Power List” and Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business.”

Michael Landau

Michael is the co-founder of Drybar and the executive chairman of our board of directors. He may not have any hair, but what he does have is tons of experience building and growing world-class brands. Michael spent almost 10 years at Yahoo! in numerous management roles, including vice president of Brand Marketing. He is also the co-founder of Ground Break Marketing, a full-service sales and marketing firm that has helped companies such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Las Vegas Sands Corp and The Plaza Hotel develop and market mixed-use real estate projects around the world.

John Heffner

John is our big fancy “professional” CEO. Before coming to Drybar in 2013, John spent time with great companies such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever and OPI. But, most importantly, he is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. John is a recipient of one of the highest honors in the beauty industry, the City of Hope “Spirit of Life” award. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife Kristine and their two sons, Andrew and Christopher. 

Cameron Webb

Cameron is the co-founder and the creative mind behind Drybar’s branding, identity and website. He got his start in advertising as an art director for Merkley and Partners 12 years ago in NYC. He’s worked on ad campaigns for Mercedes Benz, BMW Motorcycles, Fila, Activision, IKEA and Southern California Honda Dealers. More recently he served as a creative director at the prestigious ad agency Secret Weapon Marketing responsible for the Jack in Box and Southern California Honda Dealer commercials.

Sarah Landau

Sarah is our director of team member experience. As passionate as we are about giving every client the very best experience, we’re equally obsessed with the experience our employees have working for our company. Every day Sarah ensures that the way our team members feel and their greater connection to the company is a priority to the organization and ensures we reflect our 10 core values in all we do. Sarah graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in finance, and spent a year at Deloitte Consulting in NYC before deciding to jump off the corporate ladder and join us!

Denyelle Bruno

Denyelle is the president of retail operations for Drybar. With a master’s in organizational design from the University of San Francisco, she’s got more than 20 years’ experience in retail leadership, working her magic for Macy’s, PUREBEAUTY, Design Within Reach and Apple, where she was part of the initial team that launched the first 25 Apple Stores. Denyelle knows the ins and outs of how to successfully design and lead a retail business, which is precisely what she was able to accomplish at her most recent gig, serving as vice president of retail operations for Peet’s Coffee & Tea. Much as she did at Peet’s, Denyelle brings a steady blend of “caffeine-like” energy, know-how and a can-do attitude to the Drybar team.

Steve Benrubi

Steve is our chief financial officer. His track record for success spans more than 25 years in the financial industry, growing consumer-oriented, multinational companies such as Wet Seal, Domino’s Pizza and CKE Restaurants. He started his career as a CPA with a Big 4 public accounting firm in Detroit, and, although he now resides in Orange County (with his wife of 20+ years, two daughters and son), he still cheers loyally for the Detroit Red Wings. He’s also a fan of family vacations, especially ones that take place on cruise ships. We plan to make sure he keeps going on them so he stays super-happy – after all, he approves our expense reports! 

Brittany Driscoll

Brittany is Drybar’s vice president of marketing and resident guru on all things brand building. On a daily basis, Brittany conjures up creative ways to jazz up our shop experience and revolutionary product line. Before bringing her talents to Drybar, Brittany, a beach-loving SoCal native, spent eight years developing and managing global ad campaigns and promotions for Fortune 500 giants Mattel, The Coca-Cola Company, Toyota, Hilton Worldwide and The Home Depot. She loves how brands engage consumers with fun, memorable “conversations", which is precisely what she does for us (among a million other things). Having worked primarily on male-targeted brands, Brittany loves being able to be doing her thing for a “look good, feel good” female-centric brand like Drybar!
