The Dirty Martini!

So, what is that Dirty Martini blowout all about? I’m dedicating this week’s post to shed some light on our newest blowout style!

The Dirty Martini is a tousled and textured blowout. It has tons movement and some VERY loose waves throughout. I like to refer to it as a messier & more texturized and tousled version of the Mai Tai.

How do we create this look? Well, we first build some movement and slight wave into your hair with Buttercup and our Full Pint brush, then we use the 1.25” 3-Day Bender, but the trick is to only have it in your hair for a second and then stretch the waves with finger tips to create a super loose wave. Then voilà, you have yourself a Dirty Martini.

As for what products go into serving up this new style: If you have fine/straight hair, we recommend a cocktail of Southern Belle coated with Texas Tea Volumizing Spray on wet hair & then Triple Sec (spray from underneath hair all over the head) on dry hair. For those with medium/wavy hair, try some Mai Tai Spritzer on wet hair and finish it off with Triple Sec (spray from underneath hair all over the head) on dry hair. And if you have coarse/curly hair, opt for of Cream Soda mixed with a little Chaser on wet hair and Triple Sec (spray from underneath hair all over the head) on dry hair.

Now if you decide to get The Dirty Martini style, here’s some insider tips to keep that blowout lasting as long as possible:
1) The messier the better – use your fingers, not a brush.
2) Spray Triple Sec into the hair from underneath, massage and scrunch strands.
3) Flip your hair over and massage roots for more oomph throughout the day.

Next time you’re at Drybar, order up a Dirty Martini!

xx,
